Biography

I am a Learning Advisor with experience of working within a number of HEIs across the UK: Cardiff University, Royal Holloway, Newcastle University, Bishop Grosseteste University and the University of Leeds. I have experience of delivering embedded teaching across curricula, from levels 3 – 7, as well as workshop programmes, special events, one-to-one and small group tutorials, and staff CPD sessions. Alongside working in Learning Development, I have also developed, delivered and assessed modules within Philosophy and Theology departments.

How can I support Learning Developers?

I am happy to be a sounding board and offer guidance to colleagues in any of, but not limited to, the following areas: creating workshop programmes; delivering one-to-ones; giving feedback at different levels. I am also interested in developing critical approaches to Learning Development when negotiating nationwide campaigns such as ‘wellbeing’, or, the ‘BAME attainment gap’.

Subject categories I advise on: Academic Literacy (Reading and Writing), Assessment, Feedback and Course Design, Study Skills
