9th ALDinHE Conference: University of Leeds
"Learning Development in a digital age: emerging literacies and learning spaces"
2-4 April 2012

Our theme for 2012 was "Learning Development in a digital age: emerging literacies and learning spaces"

Across the Learning Development community there is significant interest in the implications of an increasingly digital learning environment and its impact on the learning experience. Our 2012 conference provided an exciting opportunity to consider how we operate in a digital age:
  • how are new and emerging technologies changing learning and teaching?
  • how is our perception of academic literacies changing in response to this?
  • when, where and how is learning and teaching taking place?
  • what is the role of students as partners and facilitators of learning in a digital age?
  • what demands does this place on traditional learning spaces?

Keynote Speakers

Helen Beetham: Higher Education Consultant
'Strange encounters: academic learning and digital know-how'.

Paul Andrews: Head of Centre for Digitally Enhanced Learning (CDEL); University of Wales, Newport
