Students’ experiences of 1-1 academic advice discussions

Undertaking research for a Professional Doctorate, Victoria is interested in students’ experiences of 1-1 advice and guidance discussions. Her current working aims are:

  • to situate students’ reasons for approaching academic advice
  • to explore students’ perceptions of discussions they have had with an advisor(s)

Based on these explorations, examine students’ reflective accounts of the purpose of the discussions and what, if anything, they have contributed to students’ learning and/or self-development.
